General Summary:

The Logistics and Distribution Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining the site schedule (0-to-6-month horizon). This role provides key inputs to site capacity and supply plans. Additionally, this role will assist with the maintenance of site replenishment strategies for direct and indirect material. In support of site logistics, this role takes the lead in coordinating outbound and intercompany shipments.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead site scheduling meetings with cross functional team members to align the finite schedule with established plans, identify risks to execution, and communicate key performance indicators

Develop and evolve scheduling processes with key stakeholders to ensure harmonization of production, materials, and logistics requirements

Establish change management controls, tracking, and key performance indicators for schedule adherence and logistics functions

Site point of contact for managing all outbound shipping requirements

Coordinate & Schedule transportation providers to ensure on-time and compliant movement of shipments - includes all outbound shipments and select inbound shipments from other warehouses and 3PLs in the VCGT network

Develop, manage, and communicate site rough cut capacity plan. Key contributor to site supply plan

Assist with the implementation and maintenance of site material replenishment tools

Support with the writing and revision of supply chain related Standard Operations Procedures (SOP)

Support quality events and change controls relevant to the Supply Chain and Materials Management functions at the site

Knowledge and Skills:

Solid foundation in the use of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Demonstrated experience working with ERP/MRP systems. Oracle is a plus

Foundational understanding of supply chain concepts

Strong collaboration and communication skills

Experience managing complex schedules and priorities in dynamic environments

Ability to work, influence, and gain consensus across multiple functions (Manufacturing, Quality and Clinicals)

Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills

Experience working in a cGMP environment

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)

Typically requires a minimum of 3 years work experience in supply chain scheduling, planning, or logistics functions
